The Real Dervish

“The real dervish is king wherever he is. Neither money, a coat, nor life in the world can take away his kingship from him. If he chooses to live in solitude, it is his own affair. If he wishes to be in a crowd, he may just as well be there. Whether a person sits in a remote place in the forest or in a baker’s shop, if he is thinking of a high ideal his surroundings cannot touch him. There is no aspect of life that can deprive a mystic of his mystical spirit.”-(Hazrat Inayat Khan);

“I am a fountain, You are my water. I flow from You to You. I am an eye, You are my light. I look from You to You. You are neither my right nor my left. You are my foot and my arm as well. I am traveler, You are my road. I go from You to You.”-(Zeynep Hatun);

“Cintaku kepada Allah telah menghilangkan kepedihan musibah, membuatku ridha menerima segala cobaan. Cintaku kepada-Nya juga membuatku tidak menghiraukan kejadian-kejadian yang menimpaku, baik pagi maupun malam hari.”-(Amir bin Qais);

“Berbicaralah dengan orang lain seminimal mungkin dan berbicaralah dengan Tuhanmu semaksimal mungkin agar hatimu dapat melihat Tuhan.”-(Mu’adz bin Jabal)[]
